  • 25 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I was saying that in the case of this Commission, it is going to do a lot of work especially when it comes to the Chapter on Land. view
  • 25 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I was saying that in terms of moral probity in this case, should we have such people in the Commission and yet, we have others who are even more qualified than this one? I urge this House to find that Mr. Philemon Mwaisaka is not fit and get somebody else to replace him. Thank you, Mr. Speaker. view
  • 16 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I have a community in my constituency, the Somalis who migrated from North Eastern Province. They have lived there for a long time and have given birth to children who have now reached the age of acquiring identity cards. When they meet the screening committee, they are told to go and get identity cards from North Eastern Province. Are we not discriminating against these Kenyans who have now become residents of Bahari Constituency? • 10 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Is the Prime Minister in order to tell this House that this nation has allowed investors to come in and invest without due regard to what Kenyans will own? If that happens, we will not own this nation. What belongs to Kenyans is the wealth of the nation. If we allow a policy where people come in and invest without restrictions, at the end of the day, this nation will not belong to us. It will belong to those people who will have invested in this nation. view
  • 28 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, in his answer, the Assistant Minister has said that a detailed engineering design review of the road is currently on-going and due to be finalized in April 2011. From the time I was in High School, that road has been under review of designs. view
  • 28 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: Could the Assistant Minister categorically confirm to the House that this is the last design review and by 2011, we will see work going on, on that road from Voi to Taveta? view
  • 27 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Is the Minister in order to mislead the House about the roles of committees? Role number one is to investigate, inquire into and report on all matters. So, what is a watchdog? view
  • 26 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I do not know what date that HANSARD refers to, but the Minister appeared before the Committee on 3rd June, 2010. He again appeared before the Committee on 12th August, 2010. If he had anything which he wanted to share with the Committee, he had the opportunity on the second appearance on 12th August, 2010 to say it. view
  • 26 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity to contribute in support of this Motion. Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to start with Nigeria. The Minister has just told us that as a Minister, he deals with policy and all other matters are left to officers in the Ministry. On 3rd April, 2008, the Minister was written a letter by the Kenyan High Commissioner to Abuja, Nigeria. It reads in part: “Following our telephone conversation on Tuesday, 1st April, 2008, in which you requested a written report on the Kenya Government property in Lagos, here below is a ... view
