Clause 26 of the Bill relates to the Betting, Lotteries and Gaming Act. It seeks to amend the Act by deleting the word ―seven point five‖ and substituting therefor the word ―fifty‖. It was imposing a 50 per cent tax on betting, lotteries and gaming collections. I also remind the House that we can propose a 50 per cent rate of taxation but what is the overall effect in the sector and the country? I propose the deletion pending further consultations ahead of next year‘s Finance Bill and Regulations.
