  • 5 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, if the Minister does not have proper information, I would request him to accompany me to the company, so that he gets proper information. We are discriminating against people. I would not wish that Mumias people are also discriminated against. view
  • 5 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, my question is very clear: How many of these management trainees have been recruited from Mumias zone? view
  • 5 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Is this Minister in order to say that we do not have skilled labour in Mumias zone? view
  • 5 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to inform the Minister that, for him to identify someone from the zone, his father or parents must have had some ownership of land in that area. That is how you identify them. I do not expect employees of Mumias Sugar Company who are not from Mumias but have their sons and daughters working for the company to be referred to as people from that zone. view
  • 23 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, Mumias happens to be one of the constituencies that fall under the Lake Victoria North Water Services Board. There has been a project which was funded by the World Bank from the year 2008 and the Assistant Minister has been saying that work on this project will begin soon. However, up to today, nothing has happened. What is he doing to make sure that the project starts immediately, so that the people of Mumias can benefit from this water? view
  • 23 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Question No.492, part “c” reads, “Could the Minister also provide details including implementation, progress of specific projects in each of the constituencies in that region”. Mumias Water Project is, therefore, covered by the Question he was supposed to have responded to. view
  • 23 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: Mumias Water Project! view
  • 23 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Roads:- (a) to inform the House when the tarmacking of Busia-Malaba road (C43) will commence; and, (b) to also state the total cost of all the works involved. view
  • 23 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I also want to take this opportunity to thank the Minister for the answer after saying that he has commissioned a consultant to look into the design of this road. From his answer, he has talked of priority. That is where the catch is. How do you prioritize the roads that you have to construct? Which criteria do you use? This road links two very important towns at the border. It links us to the central bloc of the African Continent. When there is a breakdown at the border of Malaba, there is a traffic jam ... view
  • 23 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am yet to be satisfied with the response from the Minister on the criteria used in allocating money to particular roads. To me, this is a very important road. I have asked a very specific question. When the Malaba border breaks downs, trucks have to stay there for a whole week. For those who are able to afford it have to drive back to Bungoma, come back to Mumias and then connect to Busia Town. This is a stretch of about 40 kilometers. What criteria do you use in prioritizing your roads? view
