  • 24 Feb 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. I rise to support the amendment and thank the House for adopting Clause 3 of the Bill. The amendment to develop a data bank for needy students is a Motion that I brought to this House in 2013. I would like to support Clause 4 of the Bill because, as much as we want to incorporate the county government in the county education board, we must be clear that it should be the county executive for education. Otherwise, we may give the county government a blank cheque to nominate other individuals who may not ... view

  • 9 Feb 2016 in National Assembly: I am rising on the issue of petitions that were presented last year. The Constitution and the Standing Orders have given a timeline within which petitions should be handled. My constituents brought a Petition on resettlement of squatters in Buuri. It stood committed to the Departmental Committee on Lands and it has not been addressed for almost six months now. view

I also thank the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Education, Research and Technology for giving me this chance. Mine is to sincerely thank the Committee and also thank God because in the year 2013, I moved this as a Motion in this House seeking to establish a data bank for needy students. The reason is that before I came here, I was a volunteer teacher in my village. Over nine years, I was empowering children. Very many children came from very poor families. It was very painful to me as a teacher ... view
  • 28 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I request your guidance. I had an issue regarding the Departmental Committee on Education, Research and Technology; I tried to catch your eye and attention throughout the session when the Chair was presenting but I did not. The issue was on Basic Education (Amendment) Bill that I passed to the Committee two years ago. It came to this House as a Motion, which succeeded and I passed it to the Departmental Committee on Education, Research and Technology, which has been promising to me progress on the same for two years without success. I request your guidance ... view
