  • 26 May 2020 in Senate: Madam Temporary Speaker, is the Senator for Nairobi City County insinuating that--- view
  • 22 May 2020 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for this opportunity you have given me to air my views with regards to this important Motion. I will not repeat what other people have said. It is very interesting and it is with a very heavy heart that as human beings, we have to subject some of our colleagues to exigencies of the game of politics. As a lawyer, I have realised that what we learnt in the School of Law and what we have taught in universities is not what happens in Parliament. In Parliament, it is a different ball game. It is ... view
  • 22 May 2020 in Senate: know what happened during the French Revolution of 1789. I wish Sen. Wetangula was here because he is a great historian. He would tell you that the person who designed the guillotine was the third person to be chopped. We are chopping you now. On our side, I hear rumours that we are about to be chopped. I know that very soon it will be Sen. (Dr.) Kabaka or Sen. Mutula Kilonzo Jnr. to be chopped or somebody else. It is the right thing--- view
  • 22 May 2020 in Senate: If I were you I would have signed a memo to his Excellency the President, the Party Leader, and exited rather than subjecting myself to this game. I should be elsewhere teaching my children how to do assignments. Next time if it the guillotine comes to Sen. (Dr.) Kabaka, so be it. I support. view
  • 28 Apr 2020 in Senate: Thank you very much, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity. I am also a Member of the Committee on Finance and Budget. I wish to congratulate my Chairman, Sen. (Eng.) Mahamud, for the job well done. However, he forgot to mention Machakos County which is part of the six counties on the list. Machakos County wants to put up a county assembly beyond the specified ceiling. The ceiling is Kshs250 million, but their request which they presented before our Committee is Kshs400 million. Like Sen. Mutula Kilonzo Jnr. has said, this is an avenue for looting money. ... view
  • 28 Apr 2020 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I have travelled to Nakuru County and I want to do some comparison analysis. It is good that the distinguished for Nakuru County, Sen. Kihika Kimani, is here--- view
  • 28 Apr 2020 in Senate: It is a way of praising women's gender. view
  • 28 Apr 2020 in Senate: Allow me to proceed, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. We once visited Nakuru County with the Standing Committee on Devolution and Intergovernmental Relations. Our mission was to evaluate whether they could qualify for the city status. One of the key things that I will never forget because I might leave this Senate next time when I am going to become the Governor for Machakos--- view
  • 28 Apr 2020 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, you need to add some salt in some statements. I know from where you sit that you have similar interests. view
  • 28 Apr 2020 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Nakuru County Government spent Kshs250 million to refurbish its Level 5 Hospital. That hospital is functioning so well with all the equipment. So, it pains me to hear that Machakos County whose own source revenue collection is very low wants to put up a county assembly worth Kshs400 million. Let us call a spade a spade; this is corruption. The counties that want their ceilings enhanced are looking for a way to loot public funds. We should pass a law where governors should be operating from their houses so that we use that money for ... view
