Yesterday, I welcomed another school from Matungulu Sub-County. I understand that Carmel Girls is located in Mwala Sub-County where I was born. I appreciate the role of one of the pioneer priests, Fr. Kalei from Kerala, India. He was the brainchild behind the establishment of the chain of schools. I take this opportunity, as the Senator for Machakos County, to welcome one of the schools from my county known as Sengani Girls Secondary School. However, I would like him to take into cognizance a very important aspect in terms of the dumping of waste. We need to know that the dumping is not only done in Murang’a County but also in other areas like Athi River which empties its waters into the Indian Ocean. The Members of County Assembly (MCAs) and the County Assembly of Machakos are suffering because His Excellency the Governor of Machakos has decided to punish them simply because they did not approve the County Executive Committee (CEC) Members.
