Mr. Speaker, Sir, my conscience on the fight against corruption in this country does not permit me to withdraw something that the public knows is going on and I have not mentioned anybody. I find it difficult only this afternoon to go against you because then I will be admitting that my fight against corruption is conditional. I was saying that having talked about governors who are not here today, we should also re-examine our own hearts and say if there is anything we are doing, me included, who gives Kshs3,000 to Kshs5,000 ...

23 Sep 2014 in National Assembly:

I will remind some of my colleagues about the life of William Wilberforce, a Member of the House of Commons in 1500. He faced many moments of being belittled at the time he was fighting that the Abolition Bill becomes law. I believe in the fight against corruption. I want to disagree with the Senate Leader of Majority that I am breaking the law. ...

22 Sep 2014 in Senate:
Madam Temporary Speaker, is the Senator for Elgeyo- Marakwet purporting to be the Chairman of the Committee on Finance, Commerce and Budget and, therefore, attempting to answer the question? Madam Temporary Speaker, I am not responsible for the times of departure of the President. However, I know that the President will be attending the UN Conference in New York. Whether he left yesterday or will leave tomorrow, that is not the substance of the question. I did not ask – in my question – for when the President will be leaving. I asked about the cost of funding the trip.

22 Sep 2014 in Senate:
Madam Temporary Speaker, the distinguished Senator for Kericho requested for three months. However, considering the mood in the country and the State of the Nation Address by the President on Sunday where he tried to justify why he cannot pay teachers; Kenyans, especially teachers and parents, are eager to know how much money is spent elsewhere that could possibly save the crisis in the education sector. Madam Temporary Speaker, I, therefore, request that he brings the answer – since it is just a matter of going to records at the national Treasury, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade ...
