  • 28 Jun 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would also like to add my voice to the Motion brought forward by the Senator for Kisumu, Sen. (Prof) Anyang’-Nyong’o because of what is happening at the border between Nandi and Kisumu counties. These two counties have existed for some time, and one would wonder why, suddenly, there is such flare up of people fighting each other and cattle rustling. The security agencies should get to the bottom of the matter and find out why these communities are fighting now. When I watched news of the clashes on television, on the day of the flared up, ... view
  • 15 Jun 2016 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I also condemn the manner in which MPs were arrested and detained. The reason that the judge gave yesterday to deny the Hon. Members bail was that they would interfere with investigations. How could they do so when their speeches were captured on video? So, I think there was some sinister motive in detaining these MPs. The way they are being treated is inhumane because --- view

  • 15 Jun 2016 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, the manner in which these MPs are being treated is inhuman. This is because when you are arrested, you are entitled to see your spouse, family members and have access to medicine. It is not fair to deny Hon. Junet medicine. I, therefore, condemn this action. I ask the Jubilee Government to consider this issue seriously because the way things are moving, we might degenerate into more troubles as we move closer to the elections. view

  • 3 May 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I also thank you very much for allowing and facilitating the benchmarking visit to the Senate by staff from Homa Bay County Assembly; other county assemblies should emulate what Homa Bay County Assembly has done. It is cheaper to do it here than to go overseas. As you know very well, the country is going through a lot of cash-flow constraints. I also thank the Governor for opting to take the route to benchmark locally here in Kenya. view
  • 3 May 2016 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I rise to support the amendment to this very important Act which is touching on persons living with disabilities. This section of people has been forgotten for a long time, yet they exist in the Constitution. The amendment is very clear because it is calling for two things: One is accessibility to services and formation of a body that will coordinate the activities of PWDs. It is also addressing the Kenyan sign language (KSL). You know that the official language for the deaf in Kenya is the Kenyan Sign Language (KSL). However, not everybody understands that. ... view
  • 19 Apr 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am also concerned about the composition of the directors of the Kenya Airways and the decision they make. Recently, they terminated a contract to expand the Airport yet the contractor had already mobilised all the resources and machinery which were on site. This will lead to a very huge loss. view
  • 19 Apr 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am not confusing. I am talking about the Kenya Airways which is part of the KAA. That is why I am concerned. view
