  • 1 Dec 2021 in National Assembly: Lastly, I appreciate the action taken by the Government in relation to education, but we have a lot of challenges when it comes to registration of schools. The CS for Education must caution his officers that the delayed registration of schools in this country has really caused a lot of damage to our children and made them not get their rightful requirements. Lastly, water scarcity in this country is too much; women and girls have suffered a lot. We cannot forget the pastoralists in Northern Kenya and other parts of this country. They are losing livestock at a rate words ... view
  • 1 Dec 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Lastly, is a concept the President addressed yesterday relating to climate change. The way it is being taken in this country is like it is no longer a very serious matter to Kenyans. This Parliament should inform our people that climate change is real from the floods, drought, scarcity of water and poor agricultural production we are seeing in this country. Let the ministry lead this country in a different voice so we all take action even if it means planting trees. We can increase the forest cover or at least say no to ... view
  • 24 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to ask Question No.492 of 2021 directed to the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Coordination of National Government. (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary explain the status of investigations into the increased insecurity incidences in Njoro Constituency, if any? (ii) Could the Cabinet Secretary state the measures in place to curb insecurity experienced in the area in the months of August, September and October 2021, which led to loss of lives and property, human injuries and inflicted general fear in the society? (iii) Could the Cabinet Secretary consider demarcating locations and ... view
  • 23 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to add my voice to the County Governments Grants Bill. Let me start by appreciating the Budget and Appropriations Committee in relation to appropriations of funds. I just want to appreciate the proposed grants and loans, but my main concern will be: when we talk about public participation in this country, it is taken for granted. So, my first point is to say that when we talk about these loans and grants, it is my believe that the county governments will ensure public participation takes place at ... view
  • 23 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: Let me also take an opportunity to say that I have gone through what is proposed in relation to the loans and grants. These matters include health, credit, rural inclusivity, smart agriculture, devolution, water and sanitation, primary health, Kenya devolution support, drought resilience programme, emergency locust response, informal settlement improvement… view
  • 23 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I thought I am safe and everyone around is safe because I have kept a very safe distance. It is not even 1.5 metres; I have kept a distance of about two meters. To add on that, I am fully vaccinated, therefore, I am so safe. • 23 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: I have actually kept all my colleagues safe because I am very far from the whip and the noise maker behind me. view
  • 23 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, you have interrupted me. I was going through what is proposed for the loans and the grants and I still have a lot of interest. In future, we have to look at another dimension as a country. There is a global communication in relation with climate change in the world but I do not see anything here about it. There is a concept of climate change. Climate change has become real in the world. We have seen a lot of impact in our own country. Right now, pastoralists in the northern parts of Kenya are suffering. ... view
  • 23 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: Therefore, as we try to increase forest cover in the country, which has a positive impact in our country, we must talk about climate change. There is nothing about it in this document and that is why it became a matter of concern. In future, the Budget and Appropriations Committee must see that loophole. view
  • 23 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, as we talk about all these fantastic grants and loans being proposed, I also have a message to our governors concerning a challenge in this country: when some governors get money, they sometimes do intentional action of taking the money to their strongholds and ignoring other areas where they probably did not get votes. Therefore, we must push our governors to ensure that there is fairness in terms of distribution of these grants and loans to the respective wards in this country. On that basis, I am also proposing that we should have a very clear ... view
