Thank you for giving me a chance to second this fantastic Motion moved by the Nandi County Women Representative. Before I continue, let me pass my sincere condolences to the family of our sister, Hon. Laboso, who was the Governor of Bomet County. Njoro Constituency, which I represent and Kenya as a whole, have lost a heroine. We are in pain as women because we have lost a champion. view
  • 31 Jul 2019 in National Assembly: Cervical cancer has become terror to girls and women. Cancer has become merciless to girls and women in the world today. As my colleague has said, cervical cancer kills over 3,000 women in the country every year. It is high time we said that we can no longer wait to lose more women in the country.   • 31 Jul 2019 in National Assembly: In order to make sure that we have taken precautions, we request the Government to introduce free medical check-ups and treatment for all patients of cervical cancer. We are also interested to see the Government provide free cervical cancer screening. This is to create more awareness and prevention. We also need to emphasise that it is high time the Government came up with primary health care services in all dispensaries and health centres in the country to make sure that all women in rural and urban areas access free screening. view
  • 31 Jul 2019 in National Assembly: I would also like to remind the entire country that Article 43(1) of the Constitution provides that every person has a right to the highest attainable standard of health, which includes the right to healthcare services, including reproductive healthcare. As an elected Member of Parliament and as a female, I wish cervical cancer is taken very seriously in the country. view
