  • 18 Nov 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this chance to contribute to this Motion. Indeed, I was wondering when my chance was ever going to come. I rise to support the appointment of Dr. Lydia Nzomo to be the Chair of TSC. One thing that is for sure is that the lady is highly qualified. We interviewed her in the Departmental Committee on Education, Research and Technology. She meets the threshold that is required of a holder of that office. She has academic qualifications. She has the relevant experience having put in close to 30 years of experience ... view
  • 18 Nov 2014 in National Assembly: 26 Tuesday 18th November, 2014 will hear people say that the Speaker of this Assembly is ignoring court orders. As we began this Motion, we were told that a matter has been filed in court. There is no order served upon us. Let me tell the world clearly that nobody can purport to injunct Parliament. We are the people’s representatives. Let them proceed with their matter on Thursday but as we speak and as we vet this lady, there is not a single court order served on Parliament or its Speaker. I support the Motion to have Dr. Lydia Nzomo ... view
  • 13 Nov 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, mine is, firstly, to seek intervention. I have just consulted my colleagues here and it is apparent that is a bit too cold in here. So, if the technicians could work on that bit. Secondly, I would like to comment on the issue of the Committee on Lands. I have just received a 411 breaking news in my phone. As we are seated here, the Members of the Committee have signed a petition to censure or kick out the Lands Cabinet Secretary. I do not believe every time a Cabinet Secretary does not attend a Parliamentary Committee ... view
  • 13 Nov 2014 in National Assembly: happens. They do not need to always rush to the media or undertake to censure Cabinet Secretaries. view
  • 13 Nov 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, protect me from these hostile Members. Protect me from hon. Wamunyinyi. view
  • 13 Nov 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, if the hon. Members have a different opinion, they should catch your eye, so that they can give it. view

  • 12 Nov 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, mine is premised on the same line. We are honourable Members. Is it in order for two Members of this House to refer to honourable Members as (word expunged) and the other one as (word expunged )? This is not a market place or (words expunged). Kindly give us direction or ask those Members to withdraw and apologise for insulting us. view
  • 11 Nov 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, with a lot of respect for the Mover of this Motion, hon. Keter, I would like to seek your direction on this. If I listened carefully to hon. Keter, he sought an adjournment, so that we could discuss issues of insecurity in this country. At the moment, we seem to be discussing cattle rustling between the Pokot and Turkana communities. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor. view
  • 11 Nov 2014 in National Assembly: We should not localize this Motion. Insecurity is all over in this country. In Mbeere North, someone was killed the other day and his body was dumped in the forest. view
