  • 26 Sep 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I heard the Chairman of the Committee say that people are masquerading as squatters. Is he in order to mislead the House that people masquerade as squatters? Does he have tangible evidence? We know that there is a problem of land in this country. People are landless but the hon. Member is saying that they are masquerading as squatters. view
  • 26 Sep 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, is the Member in order to discuss the conduct of the Chair through the backdoor? view
  • 26 Sep 2013 in National Assembly: Yes, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. He has said that the reason why this Committee has not completed its job is because the Chair chairs two Committees. That is actually discussing the conduct of the Chair. view
  • 26 Sep 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I rise under Standing Order No.83. Is the hon. Member in order to say that this Committee--- view
  • 26 Sep 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, is he in order to say that we do not have terms of reference when he is not even a Member of the Committee? view
  • 25 Sep 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I very much appreciate what hon. Kaluma is saying, but we must appreciate that this is the National Assembly and we are here to make regulations. We can even amend the Constitution. The basic thing, or the bottom line is that Kenyans are dying senselessly. There is what I would call insecurity. So, when we say that it is unconstitutional, I do not believe that, that is factual. We are here to safeguard the lives of Kenyans. We can amend that Constitution to fit into what we want. I urge you to rule him out of order. view
  • 18 Sep 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you hon. Speaker, Sir, for giving me this chance to contribute to this timely Bill. We all know that in the late 1990s, a lot of our banks were going under because of financial mismanagement and what an investor could only get from those banks was, out of Kshs100,000 you could get Kshs1000. So, I want to support this Bill because it guarantees a depositor his money. That once you deposit your money in the bank, when that bank collapses, you will be paid your money and the entire savings. We must also thank the current management of Central ... view
  • 18 Sep 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you very much hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I stand to support that amendment that has been proposed by the hon. Member. We know that there is what we call the human-wildlife conflict; I am certain that the entire amendment that has been proposed will take care of that conflict. I especially refer again to my small constituency, Mbeere North. We have a lot of crocodiles chasing around our women as they fetch water. They chase away young children. I am certain that whatever amount they get paid under the current Act is actually an insult to the bereaved families ... view
  • 6 Aug 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. Indeed, the Mover of this Bill by his first statement, this is a defeatist kind of way. Is it that they knew from the beginning that they could not surmount the numbers? Is he really in order to put us through an academic exercise? view
  • 24 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, mine was just a clarification about the report that was laid on the Table by the Leader of Majority Party. He said that the same should be posted on the website of Parliament. I have just realised that many Members of this House are of the analogue age. Will they be able to follow the debate? view
