  • 3 Oct 2018 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I know the cost implication of a referendum. We are struggling economically to foot some of our development agenda. So, holding a referendum to change this date will have a massive implication on our Budget. That is why I oppose the Bill and request Members to oppose it. view

  • 25 Jul 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity. I also thank Hon. Robert Mbui for donating one minute to me. I do not have a lot of time, but let me say that there is no doubt that this complimentary system to security will supplement what our security guards have been doing in schools. The most important thing is that it is will keep track of all activities in our schools. That is why I am really supporting it. Members will recall what happened in Garissa University. If we had a CCTV system in place, I am ... view

  • 13 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman for giving me an opportunity. I stand to support the appropriation to the State Department for Irrigation. One key issue we should discuss is utilisation of land through irrigation. I think we passed a very important Motion about this here in Parliament. One of the key authorities in this State Department is TARDA. I would like to laud them for what they have done in my constituency, although, they have been allocated little money. • 24 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: I take this opportunity to convey my message of condolences on my behalf and on behalf of the people of Mwingi West to the family of Hon. Grace, the people of Baringo South and the entire leadership of the Rift Valley region. I have not met Hon. Grace but I was looking forward to meeting her because she was supposed to be in my Departmental Committee on Sports, Culture and Tourism. May her soul rest in eternal peace. Amen. view
  • 10 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity. Before I embark on the business of the day, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Hon. Faith Nyenze for being elected and sworn in today as the Member of Parliament for Kitui West. She is my neighbour and I am proud of her. Her husband really championed one project in our area, which is the Bondoni-Kabati Road to be tarmacked. The best gift the Government can give to her is to tarmack that road. This Bill is in line with Vision 2030 and the Millennium Development ... view
  • 10 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: Let me emphasise the issue of compensation of people in areas where the projects will be done. I would like to see a fair, just and prompt compensation if we are going to set up irrigation schemes and make sure that everybody is adequately and properly compensated. Before I conclude, let me thank the Committee and say that if we benchmark, especially with some of the local successful projects that we have carried out like the Mwea Irrigation Scheme, we will come up with a comprehensive and helpful scheme. With those few remarks, I support this relevant, well-structured Bill. Thank ... view
