Finally, if you see the training that goes to this, you will appreciate the sportsmen and women. However, there is one aspect that I want to raise here. The commitment, sacrifice and training that goes before they win is something that should encourage all of us, that in anything that we do, if we work hard, we can succeed. They go through serious training. Sometimes they spend a lot of time running around to achieve that. Indeed, it is a virtue that is good for our young people. Whatever you do, whether in school, training for sports or in employment, ...

Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I wish to support the Petition by the Supply Chain Management Assistants. The issues raised by this group of staff are genuine. These are members of staff employed by the Ministry and posted to the counties. There is a clear breach of the public service provision where in 2022, as said in this Petition, the Compendium of Remuneration and Benefits for the Public Service, requires that all health workers are paid some health service allowances. It is sad that staffers who perform sensitive functions in the counties, like the ones in the Department of Health, ...

Mr. Speaker, Sir, I wish to welcome the students and teachers from Baringo to the Senate. It is indeed a very important day for them because they are able to see the ongoing live debates and happenings in the Senate. This is a moment when students are able to learn. We have been talking about the leaders of tomorrow. I encourage them that they have a bright future to even be leaders of this country in years to come. All they need to do is to take their studies very seriously because that is the only way they shall be ...

The Cabinet Secretary spoke about the fact that some of the suppliers licensed to import products, whether maize, rice or sugar sometimes do not have the capacity to comply with that order. The arrangement with the Ministry and those suppliers in my view amounts to a contract between the Ministry and those people. As you have stated, the intention is to help Kenyans so that they reduce the prices of the supply. However, now that you ...

Mr. Speaker, Sir, I thank the Cabinet Secretary for the comprehensive answer to the questions raised by Sen. Chute. I appreciate the fact that the Ministry does relief food supplies to various counties. The challenge we have and I have witnessed it having been the former Member of Parliament (MP) for Baringo North, are these supplies reaching the targeted population. Some of these supplies from disappear somehow somewhere between the county headquarters to sub-counties. What measures has the Cabinet Secretary put in place to ensure that food supplies reach the targeted people in order to avoid the middle people like ...
