  • 28 Sep 2021 in Senate: Madam Deputy Speaker, I will issue the Statement later. I support what Sen. Khaniri and the Senate Majority Leader have said. We have a serious problem with the Committee on Health. I have three Statements that targeted that particular Committee for the last three months and up to date, nothing is forthcoming. I request that something be done to save our Statements and the trust that we have from our people. view
  • 28 Sep 2021 in Senate: Thank you, Madam Deputy Speaker. This Statement is actually closely related. I think that it is because we are teachers and are always concerned about our colleagues. I rise, pursuant to Standing Order No.48 (1), to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Education on the introduction of the in service teachers’ training policy by TSC. In the Statement, the Committee should- (1) Explain the reason behind the introduction of the in service professional training policy by TSC. (2) State why teachers are required to cater for the cost related to their on the job professional development as opposed ... view
  • 23 Sep 2021 in Senate: Madam Temporary Speaker, I will consider that. First, I condole with the family of this particular man from Kahawa West who was killed by the police. It is sad that the police whom we expect to assist us to save lives have ironically turned to be the risk in the society. We have been speaking here every week on several Statements concerning police brutality in our country. It is time we get into another serious position as the Senate so that we save the lives of innocent Kenyans who are killed by the police. Madam Temporary Speaker, I plead with ... view
  • 22 Sep 2021 in Senate: Madam Deputy Speaker, I just want to say that I am also surprised that the Senate Majority Leader and the chairperson of Committee on Energy are not here at this particular moment when we are discussing a crisis facing our country. Even if I am a Member, those two people should be here at this crucial moment--- view

  • 22 Sep 2021 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity to add my voice to this. I want to congratulate Sen. Orengo for bringing this Motion at this particular time. He has fulfilled what the Bible says in the book of James Chapter 4 Verse 17 and I want to quote: “If anyone then knows the good they ought to do and does not do it, it is a sin before God.” You have known the wrong that is going round in our country and you have tried your best to bring it forth to all of us. view

  • 22 Sep 2021 in Senate: I support this Motion greatly though I have some reservations concerning a few things that I want to mention. First, I want to say that the silence of the Executive and particularly the silence of the President and his: “Handshake” partner is so loud in this matter. Perhaps we are pinning down some few fellows as sacrificial lambs. Why are they silent at this particular moment when in the midst of COVID-19, the price of fuel is skyrocketing? People are suffering. This will lead to the worst crisis we have ever had. Eventually the prices of food will go up. ... view
