  • 10 Feb 2020 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for also giving me this opportunity to eulogize with the family and members of the second President of the Republic of Kenya. As many people have talked about the great achievements of the late former President Moi in this country, I also want to mention a few. When it comes to matters of education, what I like most was the quality. He emphasized on infrastructure. Most of the education institutions that he supported are very particular, especially when it comes to quality. Apart from increasing the number of universities, he also supported the construction of ... view

  • 10 Feb 2020 in Senate: Today, I want to say that resting there in Parliament in the Speaker’s Walk Way is a great leader. We shall never forget him and he will never cease from our physical vision and mind. Rest in peace, great man of God. Rest in peace, great leader. Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. view
  • 29 Jan 2020 in Senate: Thank you very much, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for also giving me this opportunity to make my comments. First, I must appreciate that the Senate is fully active. Some Members who have never been here up to this late and I appreciate them because they are very active today. Secondly, this is a very important case that has been presented before this Senate. • 5 Dec 2019 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for allowing me this chance to support this important Petition from the people of Dundori, Nakuru County. Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am wondering loudly whether the Government is currently at war with its citizens. There are a lot of wrong perceptions going around in our country. There is a strong perception that these people who are normally found in the forests are simply criminals who have sold their land, and decided to live in Government or gazetted forests. More often than not, this is a wrong perception. The Government has been acting in a very ... view

  • 28 Nov 2019 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I request that those consulting do so in low tones. I support this particular Statement with all my heart. This is because this is the only remaining farming sector that generates income for Kenyans. We are aware that the coffee industry declined and the tea industry is dying. Unless we secure this one, our farmers will soon remain with nothing. We have also heard poultry farmers in areas like Kiambu complaining that the prices of eggs are going down, yet we import a lot of the eggs from neighbouring countries. There are many challenges that face dairy ... view

  • 28 Nov 2019 in Senate: Since agriculture is a devolved function, our counties should be aware that cattle feeds and supplements are expensive. It is time the national and county governments assisted the farmers. They should regulate or control and subsidize the prices of feeds and insecticides used in this particular type of farming. The mitigations are obvious. It is only that there is a lot of laxity by the national and county governments. Farmers can be supported so that their production in terms of quality is realised. Most counties no longer have extension officers to assist our farmers to improve dairy farming. These are ... view
