Thank you, Madam Temporary Speaker. I can see the House does not have a quorum. I do not know if we can proceed with the business of this House. We are so few. That is my concern.

Madam Temporary Speaker, I congratulate Sen. Olekina for bringing to this House this very important Statement. I do not know what is happening with our country because yesterday when I was watching television, I saw the Government evacuating people; I think it was in Mukuru Kwa Njenga, in a very inhuman way. Children were left outside because some houses were being pushed down while people were cooking. I realized that we are living in a time that our leaders are so inhuman or so distant from the feelings of the people. This is another case that raises concern, sacking 900 ...

Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. It is my first time to have an opportunity when you are in the Chair. I congratulate you. I was among the first Senators to bring a Statement here on the suffering of Kenyans in Saudi Arabia. I am very happy to have this important report here today before the Senate. I congratulate Sen. Thank you, Madam Deputy Speaker, for giving me this chance to support this Statement. Sports in this country are very important as a source of income for some people given the fact that there is a high rate of unemployment in the country. Many youths and even other people engage themselves in sports for economic livelihood. Madam Deputy Speaker, sports in this country should be encouraged because they are a source of great entertainment and given the fact that there are lot of challenges facing us, and many people engage in very weird activities in this country. We have seen ...

for the many sensitive petitions that are coming to this House lately. That shows that people still trust this House to handle their issues. The petitioners have mentioned very important issues affecting them and people all over the country. The issues of PWDs have not been mainstreamed effectively in every sector especially on matters of employment. Most persons living with disabilities are sidelined in employment. The PWDs are not given slots that are stipulated in the Constitution. Most county budgets especially on matters of social welfare, persons with disabilities are given very little money. To make matters worse, rarely does ...

Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to begin by sending my deepest condolences to the family of the late Agnes Tirop who was murdered in a sad way. I knew that particular champion personally. It is regrettable that she had to die in such an ugly manner. She went through a lot even before the murder. Her relationship with her lover was sour. She also went through a stressful moment. I think the lady was not open to discuss her issues with the church and everyone else. This particular case should be taken seriously by the Government because she was not ...
