  • 12 Oct 2021 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, for giving me this chance to make my contribution to this very important Statement from Sen. Dullo. It was a coincidence that I was bringing my Statement on the same kind because these are the complaints wherever we go. First of all, we should know the importance of having an Identification (ID) card in Kenya. As we talk about the importance of ID cards when it comes to elections, I want to emphasize the fact that apart from that, right now there are so many students hovering in universities. They cannot access the Higher ... view

  • 12 Oct 2021 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, it is a shame to the Ministry concerned that getting an ID card is a problem. I also saw another problem during the weekend when I was going round in Bomet County. People are becoming suspicious. Through social media, they saw that in other counties, those forms were taken to high schools for students to register yet, to get a form in Bomet, it takes you weeks traveling to the county or sub- county headquarters to get them. It takes time. Even after getting the forms and filing them, the process for it to come to ... view
  • 7 Oct 2021 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity to support this Petition. First, I would like to congratulate the Petitioners because they are representing so many Kenyans who are going through similar challenges. I also want to bring to the attention of this House the fact that the most expensive thing in our society today is medical costs. There are so many fundraisers that we are view

  • 7 Oct 2021 in Senate: going through in our villages as a result of medical expenses. We hear of a fundraising for Kshs3 million today and tomorrow there is another one. It is becoming expensive for our people. This Petition is almost similar to the Statement that I brought to the House two weeks ago asking that the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) to cover diseases such as the COVID-19 in private hospitals. I was touched by somebody from my village who had a bill of around Kshs3.4 million from a hospital, and they denied him discharge. Mr. Speaker, Sir, these autoimmune diseases are very ... view
  • 6 Oct 2021 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I also concur with Sen. Khaniri in thanking the Committee on that very important matter. They have worked on it with a lot of diligence to make sure they address the needs of the people with immediate effect. There is nothing sweeter and so good than getting problems solved at the right time. I am very sure the Petitioners are so happy that their issues are being addressed at the right time. view

  • 6 Oct 2021 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to register disappointment from other committees that have brought a lot of petitions and the people outside have been waiting for the same reports to be tabled in this House yet thus far, nothing has happened. My county has brought some issues on health to the Committee on Health, but up to date, nothing has been reported back. view
  • 6 Oct 2021 in Senate: Two of my petitions and statements have not been responded to by the Committee on Health, and now, some of those issues have been overtaken by events. There are some statements that involve education and up to this time, nothing has happened. I request you to assist us to make sure that some committees that have not attended to our petitions and statements do the same with immediate effect because our clients, the people we serve, are waiting outside there for their problems to be solved. Thank you. view
