It was read at a time when our own economy is facing very severe challenges brought about by both external and domestic factors. The Minister correctly identified the major challenges facing this country, namely; poverty, unemployment, inability to produce sufficient foods for our people and the imbalances created because our resources have not been equitably distributed in the past.
