I rise, pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1), to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Energy regarding the cost of electricity in the country. In the Statement, the Committee should- (1) Explain the reasons for the escalating cost of electricity in the country yet the country’s electricity generation capacity is on the upward trajectory, with the inclusion of solar and wind generated electricity to the grid. view
