  • 31 Jul 2024 in Senate: “Pursuant to Section 58, paragraph 7 of the Third Schedule to the Physical Land Use Planning, 2019, the registrar shall register land set aside by persons or a land-buying company for a public purpose, consequent upon proposed development”. view
  • 31 Jul 2024 in Senate: Emphasis should be put in place that before anything happens or subdivision is approved, that land should be kept aside and registered in the name of the particular organisation. Look at how it was meant to be done in Clause 16 which says: view
  • 31 Jul 2024 in Senate: “Upon registration of land under subsection 14 and 15, the Registrar shall issue a certificate of title”. view
  • 31 Jul 2024 in Senate: This is very important. In the case of an incorporated public entity, the certificate of title shall be issued in the name of the entity including mosques, churches, schools and any other institution that has been given this land. Part (b) says; view
  • 31 Jul 2024 in Senate: “In the case of an incorporated public entity, the Cabinet Secretary to the National Treasury shall, as trustee, register this company under that trustee.” view
  • 31 Jul 2024 in Senate: This is very important, but we need to ensure that, yes, the land is registered under the National Treasury as a trustee. • 3 Jul 2024 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. My son who is in St. Vincent Medical College called me yesterday and asked me: “Baba, why are these people calling you, M-Pigs?” He asked why the Gen Zs are calling parliamentarians M-Pigs. I told him I did not know, but there is something that is wrong with us. view
  • 3 Jul 2024 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, in support of this Motion, let me say a few things. The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Director, Hansard and AudioServices, Senate. view
  • 3 Jul 2024 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I hope my friend, Sen. Osotsi, is not complaining about me because I was ahead of him. I was talking about Gen Z. Let me take this opportunity to thank our Senate Majority and Minority Leaders. You have done something I have never thought of. You have represented this country and not your parties nor individual interests. Thank you very much and may God bless you. Having said that, we have a problem. The problem facing this country is huge and we need a solution. Gen Zs are asking for a solution and not a discussion. ... view
