  • 28 May 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. I rise to support the Motion for Adjournment and also to take the opportunity to congratulate Mr. Kimemia for having being passed for the nomination of the seat of the Cabinet Secretary. view
  • 28 May 2013 in National Assembly: While I contribute to this Motion, I think it will be a good time for hon. Members to know that this break also is taking the Budget Committee to various provincial headquarters in their various constituents so that we can give our people a chance to contribute towards the Budget making process in this country. It is also good to let the people know that most of the amendments and proposals that we received last year when we had the visits to the various regional headquarters were actually put and also adjusted within the Budget. It would be good for ... view
  • 23 Apr 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker, Sir, for giving me a chance to contribute to this Motion. First of all, I would like to congratulate you for having been elected the Speaker. I would also like to congratulate the Leader of the Majority Party for taking up the seat. view
  • 23 Apr 2013 in National Assembly: I rise to support this Motion and also congratulate your leadership because this is the first Committee that we have had the gender rule being applied. While I also make my reservations on what is happening in the House, one of them has been mentioned about particular names being repeated in various Committees while we have a House of almost 350 Members. view
  • 23 Apr 2013 in National Assembly: There is also the issue of gender rule even in the last Committee that we have discussed. It is good to note that in the last Committee that we have just discussed in Motion No.8, one side of the House - and that is the Jubilee side - had nominated almost 40 per cent of women to the Committee while our side of the CORD coalition has constantly been nominating 10 per cent of women to the Committees. This is very worrying. However, I understand the problem that they could be having because it is in public domain that they ... view
  • 23 Apr 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, Sir, I did not mean the backdoor because there is only one main door to the House. However, you know the procedures that are being use. Some people are going to the media every time saying that the CORD coalition cannot perform without particular people in this House. It is good for Members to know that we are all equal when we come to this House. It is only particular people who are in various positions like the Leader of the Majority Party and the Leader of the Minority Party. view
  • 23 Apr 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, Sir, with those few words, I beg to support the Motion. view
  • 9 Jan 2013 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, my point of order is that the Minister is indicating that she is going to provide another water pan in that area. From the figures that we have especially for the people of around the slopes of the Aberdares, there are some water programmes which were started back in the 1960s to carter for populations which were lower than 30,000 people. The populations have now grown to about 100,000 people. Could the Minister indicate what plans she has to rehabilitate a programme like the Gatamathi Water Project which serves Mathioya? Of course, now the programme cannot ... view
  • 9 Jan 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I rise to seek a Ministerial Statement from the Minister of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security on the failure by the family of the late Esther Muthoni Ngarega, who died in Saudi Arabia and subsequently the remains were brought back to Kenya. We want to know why the family has not been issued with a burial permit. In the Statement, the Minister should:- 1. state the reasons why the family of the late Esther Muthoni Ngarega has not been issued with a burial permit; 2. confirm that the inconsistency in the cause ... view
  • 2 Jan 2013 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, this is in relation to the menace that is being created by the wildlife in my constituency. There was one time on the Floor when many monkeys were reported to be destroying our crops in Mathioya. When will the Minister post a wildlife service officer to Mathioya, so that we can control the animals destroying crops in that area? view
