  • 29 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: Parliament, we also get a lot of support from various stakeholders from outside. You are aware that about three weeks ago we were on recess and the time for planning has been very short since we came back last week. Though I do not want to anticipate any debate, we expect to be going on recess from tomorrow. This was to remind hon. Members of Parliament that you are very much invited and welcome. The cards for the same event are ready at the reception. You are required to pick them before then so that we can all congregate at ... view
  • 29 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I want to confirm to hon. Members that we have your invitation cards ready and have to be picked at the reception. I know Hon. Muthomi wants to talk about it because he is a very active member of the same group. If you can give him a chance, I think he can expound better. view
  • 10 Mar 2015 in National Assembly: I thought I had the Floor, hon. Speaker. I am on a point of order. view
  • 10 Feb 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. On my own behalf and that of my constituents of Mathioya, I wish to take this opportunity to extend my condolences to the family of the late George Muchai and the families of his driver and two security people. It is sad because I knew hon. Muchai as a great man; in real sense, I used to call him my brother-in-law. The late hon. Muchai has married from my place, at a place called Gituge. The love I used to see him exhibiting for that place was immense. He used to visit his mother-in-law. It was ... view
  • 11 Dec 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker for giving me this chance to make one or two comments as we close. First, is to thank all hon. Members for their determination, devotion and passion during the debates that we have had throughout the whole year. It is good for people to realize that when we are debating, it is not because we have a different view; it is not because we hate one another; it is because we want to get the best for this country. I also want to thank hon. Members for the Bill that has gone through the second stage. ... view
  • 10 Dec 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker for giving me a chance to pass my condolences on behalf of myself, my family and the people of my constituency; Mathioya and Murang’a County in general. I send my condolences to the family of the late hon. J.J. Kamotho who was a former Member of Parliament of my constituency. • 10 Dec 2014 in National Assembly: person. He was Member of Parliament and a Kenyan who served this Parliament with a lot of diligence. I knew hon. Kamotho when I was a very young person because of the way he used to manipulate things and also propagate the KANU agenda. Nobody in this country will not miss him. I still say that if we had such people in political parties at a time like now when we have not been able to stabilise properly, we would be able to strengthen political parties in this country and make the country very strong. Hon. Kamotho’s contribution to this ... view
  • 10 Dec 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, it is important to look at this petition. We are at a particular moment in history and our situation in Kenya means that we should look at the structures of security. We should look at their wholeness so that we can come up with a clear system because there seems to be dysfunction somewhere. The issues about the Commission, though I may have my own reservations, need to be looked at keenly so that at the end of the day, we can come up with a proactive approach to address the question of insecurity in this ... view

  • 13 Nov 2014 in National Assembly: Yes, hon. Deputy Speaker. I was listening to what the Leader of Majority Party was saying. He said that after we had passed that report in this House, the Government went ahead to form a taskforce to investigate again. It is very sad because this is an issue that has been under discussion since 2012. I remember one time the Departmental Committee on Energy, Communication and Information and the one in charge of transport handling that issue. There is a lot of sensitive data that is being collected through that facility and Kenyans do not benefit. We are paying a ... view
