  • 7 Jun 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you. I rise to support this amendment. The import of this amendment is to put fairness and equity into admissions into our colleges and universities. Before we had the Joint Admissions Board (JAB), but we now have KUCCPS. Universities and colleges have been admitting students based on the Vice-Chancellors or Registrar’s decisions. This puts an end to the sort of carte blanche we had with admissions. For that reason, this amendment is important and I support it. view

  • 25 May 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. The Chairman of the Committee should stay guided because as the Leader of the Majority Party has said, the mood of the House is very clear. This House is not about encouraging gambling. Gamblers must be warned that this is the end of their game. This country needs to raise revenue. While we are encouraging investors, at the same time the CS has given a policy position of 35 per cent. So we are just flogging a dead horse. view
