  • 27 Nov 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, Sir, in two weeks’ time, we will be able to respond. view
  • 27 Nov 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker, Sir. We will respond to the question after we liaise with the Department Committee on Lands. That will be next year, First Session. That is when we will respond. view
  • 16 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, Sir, I want to make this clear; Members are very busy and could be elsewhere transacting business for this country. It is not true that they are sleeping and that is why they are not here. Those who are absent are either in their constituencies or are on their way here. Anybody purporting to say that they are sleeping is wrong. I have never been absent since I was sworn in as a Member of Parliament. As for the rest, I have followed and found that most of them have offices far away from the Central Business District ... view
  • 2 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. I rise to support the Motion. view
  • 2 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: First, I want to give a few facts about dairy farming. Thirty-nine per cent of the milk in this country is processed by Brookside Dairy Limited. Thirty-one per cent is processed by New KCC. Thirteen per cent is processed by Spinits Dairy, while nine per cent is processed by Githunguri. This totals to about 80 per cent. Fifty-three per cent of the milk produced in this country comes from the Rift Valley region, while 25 per cent comes from the Central region. Hon. Deputy Speaker, I am a serious farmer. I am very discouraged to note that a litre of ... view
  • 20 Jun 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I want to thank the Mover of the Motion and make the following remarks: One, education is the only equalizer that can make anyone in this world feel that they can dine with kings. I am here today because of the education which somebody in the village gave me. I still believe that this House can give so many people opportunities to study and achieve what they want in life. Most times we have been complaining about the issue of laptops. That was an individual’s idea; nobody has stopped anyone from coming up with an idea ... view
  • 20 Jun 2013 in National Assembly: You will have your chance, hon. Midiwo! view
  • 20 Jun 2013 in National Assembly: I can be out of order but let me tell you one thing for free--- view
  • 19 Jun 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I rise to support this Motion. Looking at the issues that hon. Korir has raised, I have no reason not to support this Motion. First, I agree with the Mover of the Motion that this country has so much talent which is untapped. Our athletes leave this country and go abroad, and because of negligence on our part as a country, we find them moving to other countries to become immigrants there. We have so many athletes in Qatar and Dubai. We have so many athletes migrating to Dubai and changing their citizenship ... view
  • 12 Jun 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise to support the Motion passionately because I understand the need for us to have more nurses in this country. Technically, we have a shortage of 36,000 nurses in this country. The unfortunate thing about it is that we have 35,000 trained but unemployment nurses. I am very concerned that we spend a lot of money training nurses, who benefit the First World countries. We have spent quite a lot of money in constructing dispensaries and health centres in our constituencies using the CDF money. Almost 90 per cent of those health facilities are ... view
