  • 18 Oct 2023 in National Assembly: We need to set standards for our products because, as we think about ourselves, we should think about the world at large. We are not in our world. We need pharmaceutical companies, especially those in production, to set high standards for their products. I have read the Bill, and it will ensure all pharmaceutical products are the best. In Kenya, we have a challenge of over-the-counter treatment, and many of us have become drug abusers. I have witnessed people taking a cough syrup called Activin, which is banned in some countries. People are abusing it, overdosing and becoming drunkards. It ... view

  • 17 Oct 2023 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Speaker, I also stand to add my voice to this Motion as amended by Hon. Atandi. This is an important amendment. Year in, year out, we have issues with SACCOs. There is not a single year that has passed without hearing of a scheme that has sunk Kenyans’ money. We are living in very difficult situations. Earning an income is a big challenge. Some people are registering companies to steal from our people. They should be stopped. This can only happen if these fraudsters are held accountable and made to pay back what they have stolen. That is ... view
  • 14 Sep 2023 in National Assembly: Thank you Hon. Speaker for giving me this opportunity. May I also eulogise this great man of Meru. I knew Hon. Muriuki. He was a great leader. I served with him when we were in the Alliance Party of Kenya, the former “Bus”. He was our Chairperson and a great man. He was a great mobiliser and a very reasonable leader. May I extend my condolences to his family and the people of Imenti North on behalf of the people of Igembe Central because we are brothers and we really feel the pain of losing this great leader from Meru ... view
  • 26 Apr 2023 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker. I support the proposed amendment of the law on the boda boda sector. It is a sector that is very crucial to the country. Those are the most reliable people whenever transport services are needed in the village. It is good that we restructure the sector through these amendments so that the operators can know what to do. They should be fully registered and belong to Saccos like the ones in the matatu sector. We should know each boda boda is operating in a certain route. Whenever there is a mess, it will be easy ... view
  • 12 Apr 2023 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. My question is on the same NPRs. In Igembe Central, we were promised NPRs and guns. So far, we have not received anything yet the area is marginalised. Insecurity cases are very high and drug trafficking in centres around Kiutine has been discussed. We requested to have a police station in that area but nothing has been done. We also requested for GSU Camp in that area, which is very insecure, but nothing has been done. Could the Cabinet Secretary advice on the way forward? Thank you, Hon. Speaker. view

  • 21 Feb 2023 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker. I stand to support this Motion because it is very important especially on the two-thirds gender rule. It is a Motion that we cannot avoid because it is in the Constitution, which we must uphold and protect. We have no way but to support this Motion so that gender can be protected. On the issue of having the CSs coming in this House to answer questions other than in the committees, I also support it because what the committees will tell us is not what we will be told by them. Therefore, I support. On ... view
  • 30 Nov 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker for giving me this opportunity to address this Sessional Paper No.2 of 2021 on the National Agricultural Policy. Many Members who spoke earlier have said agriculture is the backbone of this country and it contributes a very big percentage to our GDP. It is a sector that should be supported and promoted to the highest level. The main objective of this policy is to increase production at a low cost. Agriculture is an investment like any other and whoever ventures into it has intentions of benefitting and gaining profits. Now that the Government has taken ... view
