  • 20 Nov 2019 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I also rise to support this Bill by Hon. Joyce. I thank her for bringing it. It goes in tandem with the one that Hon. Kamket has brought, which is talking about marginalisation. A good number of these schools are actually marginalised. In some areas, you find roads are impassable. So, in case of the kind of disaster that Hon. Members have talked about, it will be very difficult to access some of these schools, which include some schools in some areas of my constituency. Also, we realise that some institutions of higher learning are not ... view
  • 6 Nov 2019 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, I had the commercial aspect, but I did not hear the individual aspect. Is that captured in the amendment? Oh, it is captured in other clauses. I support. view
  • 6 Nov 2019 in National Assembly: My name is Hon. Daniel Rono. I am the Member for Keiyo South, Elgeyo Marakwet County. The world is moving very fast. Data needs to be disposed of as soon as it is done with. I support the amendment. view
  • 9 Oct 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity. First, I want to thank Hon. Bashir who has brought the Livestock and Livestock Products Marketing Board Bill. I am glad to learn that the blood Hon. Sankok has talked about can actually produce fertiliser. I have equally learnt that bones can be crashed to produce food. Equally, Hon. Members have spoken about creating a board, more particularly, to promote the marketing of animal and livestock products. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, we do not want to create a board that is not strong enough. That is because we have ... view
  • 9 Oct 2019 in National Assembly: onAgriculture and Livestock, he clearly stated that agriculture is technically dead. I do not know why he is the Chairman of that Committee, but those were his words. We have the weather. Many animals are reared in Wajir, Mandera and far-flung areas towards Tanzania by the Maasais and it is very difficult for them to bring them to the markets. The KMC is located in Athi River and it is virtually a dead company. So, it is important that we have markets in every constituency so that animal products can be marketed easily. For example, we have milk products. Milk ... view
  • 2 Oct 2019 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I want to caution my brother, Hon. Wamalwa. view
  • 2 Oct 2019 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Kimwarer Dam Project should not be brought here because it is a matter currently in court. The people I represent in Keiyo South are at the moment preparing an appeal to the President. We still feel it was irregular for him to cancel the project. We are still hurting. We are in pain for the cancellation of that project. view

  • 1 Oct 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I support the Bill on the Floor touching on early childhood education. I support the Member who has just spoken about education. Education cannot be dissected. We cannot dissect a portion of education to be in the county governments and another under the national Government since the standards will be compromised. As it is, standards of early childhood education are compromised. Some of the teachers are employed by the county governments and others by the parents. So, their level of education is not in tandem with that of primary and secondary school teachers. The ... view
  • 4 Jul 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I rise to support the Report of the Committee on our airline, KQ. The KQ is our pride. It is known all over. It has been selling us abroad. Tourism will equally grow as a result of nationalising KQ. We should not look at or focus on profits only. We should look at the bigger picture. Hence, I support the Committee and the Report. The KQ, as you well know, has been dwindling over time. It is just the other day that we had a new management that it came up a bit and even the ... view
