  • 21 Sep 2021 in National Assembly: As I conclude, we need to strengthen co-operatives for marketing purposes and better prices for our goods like tea, milk and coffee. This way, we will build Kenya’s economy in a better way. I support this Report on co-operatives. Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. view
  • 18 Aug 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me an opportunity to also weigh in this amendment of the Irrigation Bill. I start by supporting the Hon. Member who has just said that water is life. Indeed, water is life. I am glad that the country and the Government have realised the importance of irrigation. Irrigation is the root cause of food security. A good portion of our land is dry. As Members of Parliament, we ought to sit down and ask ourselves when we will ever solve the problem of water and irrigation by extension. This is because the ... view
  • 18 Aug 2021 in National Assembly: unevenly and are unfairly distributed. Some of them are politicised like Kimwarer and Arror dams. Politics came into play until we forget the core objective we wanted to achieve. The minute you politicise irrigation and water we lose it. view
  • 18 Aug 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Members, we know that food security is one of the Big Four Agenda items the Jubilee Government has geared itself to achieve and that is the answer to irrigation. There is no better answer. So, we need to drill boreholes in every sub location in this country and particularly in the dry areas because we have ignored them at our own peril. This is how we will get food security and there is no better answer to this than water and irrigation. As we sit here, let us put enough effort in allocating money for this elephant called irrigation. view

  • 5 Aug 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I feel the pain of Hon. Nassir because it affects our membership a lot. Whenever I take a plane to Eldoret or Mombasa, we normally do not do social distancing. This is very interesting. I am just wondering whether planes are corona free. It looks like when you sit in a plane, you do not get corona but, when you sit in a bus, you can get it. It is a very interesting scenario. If we have allowed the air transport to carry its full capacity, it is only fair that we allow the buses and ... view
  • 6 May 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, on behalf of the people of Keiyo South, I wish to pronounce myself clearly that may BBI die. I vote no. view
  • 30 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker for giving me this opportunity to weigh in on this matter. I also want to thank you for the communication you gave this evening about the way Parliament is going to take its recess. I salute you for that. I am one of the Members who had come in the Al-Shabaab way ready to shoot down that Motion. view
  • 30 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: I want to thank my colleague, Hon. Limo, for what he has said that we should be giving notices when we want to do a lock down. It is terrible, unreasonable and not fair for national figures to do to the people. Directing a lockdown within 12 hours is not fair. For example, if I am in Nairobi doing business and then I am told: “We want you to leave in 3 hours!” Is that reasonable? Are they trying to tell me that they will stop Corona within the 12 hours? That, there will be no Corona now that they ... view
  • 30 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I want protection. They will get an opportunity to contribute. view
