  • 5 Aug 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I first want to seek your indulgence because earlier on I had been called by the Speaker and I had lost my balance of five minutes. So, I had keyed in for the 5.30 p.m. debate on land in Lamu. view
  • 5 Aug 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I said that I had contributed on this Bill for five minutes. Last time when there was an adjournment, I had a balance of five minutes, but today when the substantive Speaker called, I had lost my right of five minutes according to the Clerk. So, it was ruled that my contribution was sufficient and I cannot get more contribution on this particular Bill. Now that the substantive Speaker had ruled that I cannot contribute on this, I think it is only fair that I contribute on the next matter on land. view
  • 5 Aug 2014 in National Assembly: I will just be honest on the land issue at 5.30 p.m. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor. view
  • 5 Aug 2014 in National Assembly: Hon.Temporary Deputy Speaker, today I was in when the Speaker called. I spoke. If you check, I explained to him that I had a balance of five minutes but, unfortunately, somebody else was given the opportunity. view

  • 24 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. I would like to seek a clarification because at one time I had an opportunity to work for the former Ministry of Sports as a Secretary. What criteria are used to distribute these sports centres of excellence in the country as a whole, and without discriminating against some regions? Secondly, how much money has been spent so far? This is because in many of the places he has mentioned I know nothing has been done or there is no input at all by the Government. Thank you. view
  • 23 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker, for offering me this opportunity. As we speak, I have a constituent of Makueni who was killed in Mombasa in the recent terrorist attack on a motorbike. In fact, there is nobody to bury the deceased young man other than myself. It is a matter of concern and the right Committee is the Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security. It should address these matters quickly at least for the State to assist with burial expenses. The State should set aside some money for emergencies in the Budget, so that families can be compensated urgently. ... view
  • 23 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: I would like to seek a clarification from the Chair. If the report you have presented is accurate then why do we have, occasionally when they release the affluent’ fish and other animals within the water dying, bearing in mind that this is the water that goes to the Yatta Canal which is consumed by a lot of people downstream? view
  • 23 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. I rise to support the Motion by the Chairperson of the Mediation Committee on the Division of Revenue Bill. For us to develop this country, there has to be proper working mechanisms between the Senate and the National Assembly. For there to be that relationship, as presented, this is the best way to go. Even from the way the Chairperson has spoken, the manner in which the Committee is constituted shows that the country is ready for devolution. The Mediation Committee is likely to do good to the country. view
