  • 12 May 2009 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I think the Assistant Minister misunderstood me. I said that the Ministry has failed to put in place logistical measures. The Assistant Minister is telling us that he has established depots in every division, which is not true. There are logistical problems and I want the Assistant Minister to inform the House how he will sort them out. view
  • 22 Apr 2009 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I recall the words of your moving speech yesterday that called on to us to take up responsibility of leadership that was bestowed upon us by our voters. The issue here has been lack of consultations between His Excellency the Vice-President and Minister for Home Affairs, the PNU side and the ODM side. I believe that when we adjourned the House this morning at 10.00 a.m., we have had quite a number of hours to do consultations. It will be imperative that we note at what level the consultations broke down. I think it is ... view

  • 24 Feb 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise to reluctantly support this Motion for Adjournment. I do this reluctantly because I realise that Members need a break. I hope that we will use this break to reflect ourselves deeply, check our conscience, see whether we have served this country well, whether whatever actions we have taken have been for the betterment of this country; not influenced by tribal considerations, partisan considerations or in any other way including monetary. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I think it is important that we reflect as we go home for recess because as I talk, ... view
  • 24 Feb 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the first thing we did when Mr. Obama became President was to ask him for a loan to buy maize. We celebrated when a desert country like Egypt brought us food. What a shame! We should reflect and learn. Now that we have been running with the wolves, hunting with the wolves, are we going home to run with the hare? I fear that probably our conduct view

  • 24 Feb 2009 in National Assembly: here, and especially the manner in which we voted in this House, probably we voted and won in this House but lost the country in the process. view
  • 24 Feb 2009 in National Assembly: With those few remarks, I beg to support. view
  • 19 Feb 2009 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Is the hon. Member in order to suggest that an advocate doing his usual duties of representing a client will have his mind poisoned or something of the sort? Is he in order? view
  • 18 Feb 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, that Road C44, actually, starts from Turbo, through my constituency and into Saboti Constituency. That is a very important road in a very highly agricultural productive area. The Assistant Minister has told us that he might allocate some funds in the next financial year, but he has not given a firm commitment. Could the Assistant Minister, please, give us a firm commitment that, finally, after over two decades, that road will actually be tarmacked in the 2009/2010 Financial Year? view
