âUse your Common Senseâ is the Motto for Friends School Kamusinga. So, I believe that all lawyers who studied at Friends School Kamusinga will definitely qualify to be judges, because they definitely use their common sense. I would like to commend the Minister for recognising my flagship school.

15 Feb 2011 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, finally, as we implement this Constitution, we should realise that we are living through a very difficult time in this country. Those who have read George Orwellâs Animal Farm will recall that the animals in that âfarmâ sat down and wrote down their rules on a board for all of them to see. One of those rules was âAll animals are equalâ. The animals in that âfarmâ went on with their lives, and they were very happy. However, they woke up one morning and found that this rule was changed to read âAll animals are ...

was âFour legs are goodâ. However, when all the animals went to sleep one night, some of the animals who were ruling the others decided to start walking on two legs, feeling that they were superior to the other animals. In the course of that night, those âanimalsâ changed that rule to read âFour legs good, two legs betterâ.

Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, we need to be awake as we implement this Constitution, so that we do not end up living in George Orwellâs world as described in his book, Animal Farm, which so vividly describes the times in which we are living.

Mr. Speaker, Sir, you heard the Minister say that they spent over Kshs100 on the design of this road. Could he explain to this House how many roads in the western region have been designed and not constructed? Could he also explain when the designs were made? Road C44 was designed in 2007 and has never been upgraded up to now. Could he explain why there are so many designs in the western region which have not been acted on?

8 Feb 2011 in National Assembly:
On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I think this is knowledge within the Ministerâs hands; that the designed roads in the western region are more than those in other areas and yet, they have not been constructed. Is the Minister in order to say that they have to get the design before they can decide to build, yet they keep on designing and not building?

8 Feb 2011 in National Assembly:
On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Listening to His Excellency the Vice-President and Minister for Home Affairs, he said that all the Heads State of the countries he went to were willing to support the position of Kenya on deferral of the cases. Could he confirm whether Botswana was one of the countries that supported that position? What has been available in the media has been that South Africa and Botswana were not with us. Mr. Speaker, Sir, while I sort of congratulate the Vice-President and Minister for Home Affairs on his âshuttle diplomacyâ to regain the sovereignty ...

8 Feb 2011 in National Assembly:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, is the Vice-President and Minister for Home Affairs in order to say that all the countries they visited were in support of Kenyaâs position, yet it is in public knowledge that Botswana and South Africa did not seem to support Kenyaâs position? Is he in order to mislead the House?
