11 Apr 2018 in National Assembly:
have nothing to do with the environmental effects of the Lamu coal power project. I understand that two countries whose businesses will be affected by the Lamu Port and the coal power plant are already using civil societies in court to stop this important project.

11 Apr 2018 in National Assembly:
The Lamu Port-South Sudan- Ethiopia-Transport LAPSSET Corridor project requires a lot of energy. The National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) had already given the new coal power project an okay to proceed in Lamu. It is very unfortunate that some people have continued giving false information to Kenyans regarding coal mining, the environmental and health effects which will occur. Without the input of almost 1,000 megawatts from the Lamu coal power project then the death of LAPSSET will be instant because of lack of enough power. It was to process fuel from Turkana which will be pumped to Lamu for exportation. ...

11 Apr 2018 in National Assembly:
Currently, the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) is powered through other means of energy and we want to use electrical power which will be very close to the SGR terminus in Mombasa. We are looking forward to Konza City which will also get its energy supply from the same place in Lamu. The main key players in this field are distinct as follows: under power generation we have the Kenya Electricity Generating Company Limited (KenGen), the Geothermal Development Company (GDC) and the independent power producers who are also important. Others involved in transmission and distribution are the Kenya Power Company (KPC), ...

As I second this important Bill and I want to inform Members that we have made a lot of progress. We have substantive amendments which the Committee will be bringing during the Committee of the whole House where we will address the issues which arose. In future we need advice from the Speaker regarding the lapse of the two Bills in the last Parliament. We need to know whether the Presidential Reservations are still a subject matter. Are they alive or have they lapsed? I am saying this because they were included in those two Bills, but we realised there ...

11 Apr 2018 in National Assembly:
Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker and my dear sister Hon. Faith, Member of Parliament Nyandarua. I take this opportunity to support the Motion as indicated on the Order Paper. I want to take up from where Hon. Wangari, my dear sister left. It is true that the employment for the youth that was on a pilot program in Nakuru attracted 30000 applications and we just required 800. You can see the thirst of Kenyans. As Hon. Wangari has said, it is important for the Mover to look at the policies and the regulations in various Ministries and State Departments ...

29 Mar 2018 in National Assembly:
Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I need some guidance from you. I had taken some two petitions to the Clerk’s Office but I was advised to ask Questions to the respective ministries. One was about the helicopter plane crash in Nakuru and secondly on the regulations regarding internship programme for graduates. It is now one month and a half since. I have not received any response. The Office of the Clerk advised that they have already written to the respective ministries regarding the helicopter crash in Nakuru and the other bit about matters concerning the internship of graduates.
