Deputy Speaker, pursuant to Standing Order 44(2) (c), I wish to request for a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Lands regarding the resettlement of Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) from an IDP camp in Nakuru. Two hundred and sixty-seven families were resettled at Ndonga Farm in Subukia by the Government in September, 2010. However, the ownership of that land is now in dispute. Deputy Speaker, the Chairperson should inquire into and report on the following:- (a) why the 267 families and the 556 families have not been resettled at Ndonga and Kisima farms, respectively, as planned, yet the Government had bought the two pieces of land; and, (b) when the Government will disburse money for the 47 families, who are yet to be resettled. The status of our roads is questionable and leads to increased road accidents. The other bit is about the road signs. If you look at our roads, there are only a few road signs. But in most of the areas, the road signs are not there. view
