  • 11 May 2017 in National Assembly: qualify--- We cannot fill those positions with our children by the fact that they are related to us or they are related to these other persons. view
  • 11 May 2017 in National Assembly: If the other coalition can give us about two or three options to choose from, we do not have a problem as long as they meet the criteria and qualifications to be Members of Parliament. Remember, those we are electing to East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) are going to make legislation. They are going to be Members of Parliament. They are not going there to represent their families or their parties. They are going to make laws and to improve the economy of East Africa. view

  • 11 May 2017 in National Assembly: With those few remarks, I want to welcome our colleagues to give us more names. I support Hon. Chris Wamalwa who has said that we need to choose people who are qualified. It does not matter who they are. view

  • 21 Feb 2017 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I want to support this Motion. I am a victim of cattle rustling. Kerio Valley, which is known for the production of water melons and all fruits, is now a valley of death. It is a total shame that the President and the Deputy President (DP) are going around seeking for votes when Kenyans are dying. It is a shame that this is happening in the Rift Valley where the DP, General Nkaissery, the Inspector General (IG) and the Chairman of the Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security, Hon. Kamama, come from. It is a ... view
  • 15 Feb 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker for giving me this opportunity to join my colleagues in supporting the candidate for appointment as Chairperson of the Commission. Hon. Speaker, as you have heard from the Leader of the Majority Party, the members of the Commission are not in office. They were appointed by the President but they are not working because the Commission has no Chairperson. The Commission is very important, especially in division of revenue amongst the counties. Many of my colleagues who spoke before me talked about the disparities witnessed in revenue allocation, and in disbursement of monies from the Equalisation ... view
  • 15 Feb 2017 in National Assembly: Many Kenyans yearned for a new constitution basically because of devolution. We want the Chair of the Commission to look into the issue of corruption. It is like corruption has been devolved. Yesterday, MCAs of a whole county were arrested because of corruption. That is not the only county where public servants are involved in corruption. Many counties are collecting less revenue than what they used to collect when they were county councils. This is an area where there are many loopholes that are used to perpetrate corruption. There is also need to legislate more to stop leakage of revenue. ... view
  • 19 Oct 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to add my voice to this important Motion, and thank Hon. Mwinyi for bringing it. The P3 Form has been a big issue. It has been a big problem to many Kenyans. Even where there are obvious issues like someone being assaulted, a child or woman being raped; with enough witnesses and evidence; at the police station, police officers will tell you they cannot proceed until you fill the P3 Form. Sometimes, the victims of that nature are unconscious. Someone may be in hospital and cannot even ... view
  • 19 Oct 2016 in National Assembly: Not really. It is the common ones like the driving licence, the NHIF card and NSSF cards. For financial cards, that may be a bit separate. This morning, the President admitted that he is a frustrated man and that corruption in the country is massive. It is exactly what is happening and it trickles down to the police stations. Even if those forms are made free today, you will still go to the police station and you are told: “We do not have copies. We are still waiting for them from the headquarters.” It is because they want something small ... view
