  • 28 Nov 2013 in National Assembly: The Bill, hon. Speaker, Sir. As a country, we have come a long way and we have our own history. For this country and the people to move on, truth needs to be told. The injustices which were there before need to be investigated for this country to reconcile and move on. In this Bill, many of my colleagues have expressed concerns and--- view
  • 28 Nov 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, Sir, hon. Ng’eno knows that even at the Committee level, I opposed it because I actually gave my dissension in the Report. I even gave my opinion in my constituency where we had the massacre which was not captured by the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission (TJRC). In the year 2,000, more than 70 people in my constituency were killed. That is not in the Report. In the year 1999, during a polio immunization day, a total of 14 children under the age of five were killed. That is not in this Report. I am on record saying ... view
  • 28 Nov 2013 in National Assembly: know. Kenyans want to move on. We do not want to go back to those things every other time. We just want to clear it once and for all for Kenyans to move on. On issues at land, there have been a lot of historical injustices. Many Kenyans are landless in their country and there are so many foreigners who own huge chunks of land. For instance, in the Coast Province, there are prominent people who are not residents who own large chunks of land. I think I must congratulate the President, the Deputy President and the Jubilee manifesto for ... view
  • 20 Nov 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker, Sir. I rise to oppose this Report. The menace of alcoholism and drug abuse in this country is a national disaster. There is no other Kenyan who has shown the passion to fight drug abuse and alcoholism except Mr. John Mututho. We have seen Members of Parliament in this House---- Quite a number of them have court cases, yet they are seated here honourably as Members of Parliament, and they want to prevent Mr. Mututho from chairing the Board of NACADA. It is only in this House where we can fight the menace of drug abuse ... view

  • 20 Nov 2013 in National Assembly: We want to give Mr. Mututho the job and I hope when he becomes the Chairman of this important Authority, abuse of other kinds of drug, apart from alcoholism and heroine--- Drug barons and all others who do this business will be prosecuted. With those few remarks, I wish to oppose this Report. Thank you, hon. Speaker, Sir. view
  • 12 Nov 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. Two weeks ago, I requested a Statement from the Chairperson of the Committee on Administration and National Security, hon. Abongotum Kamama. He read a Statement but there were some clarifications he was to give and he requested to be allowed to bring an answer which had to do with work permits issued at the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government. view
  • 30 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. I made a request for a Statement from the Chairperson of the Committee on Administration and Internal Security. On the Order Paper, it is placed as No. 2 for a response. Last evening, I was told by the Clerk that the Chairperson would give a response today. The answer is ready but I have not seen the Chairperson. Hon. Lentoimaga, the Chairperson, should be in position to give me the response. Thank you. view
