I happen to serve in the Departmental Committee on Transport, Public Works and Housing. Therefore, I think these proposed amendments before us are a big joke. What value is it going to add and what role are they going to play? As you know very well, most of the Senators have been trying to seek relevance in their respective counties. First and foremost, I would like to emphasise that this Bill has come at no better time because of what is happening in my Nyandarua County. Most of them are not answerable to the people directly because no one elected them. They are selected. The primary objective of the Kenya Roads Bill, 2017, is to give effect to the Fourth Schedule of the Constitution in relation to the road sector. Infrastructure network plays a pivotal role in advancement of economies world over and Kenya is not an exception. The main objective of the Bill is to streamline for the better issues pertaining to the road sector. view
