  • 10 Feb 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. From the outset, on my behalf and on behalf of the people of Ol Kalou Constituency, I would like to convey my condolences to the family and the people of Kabete Constituency for the loss of hon. Muchai, the two bodyguards and the driver. Let me just comment on that particular incident. I was among the very first people to arrive at the scene on that fateful Saturday morning, at around three o’clock. What I saw there was no doubt a case of pure assassination. I believe and I have confidence that our security apparatus and ... view

  • 10 Feb 2015 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, protect me from the Leader of Majority Party. When I am talking, the Leader of Majority Party should be quiet. I think this is something worth noting, but for the sake of the smooth flow of business, we should approve it as it is. This is a very important Committee as far as the business of the House is concerned. Next time when you are coming up with this list, these people should be vetted so that we make sure we have the right people. Hon. Speaker, I would like to donate my remaining minutes to hon. • 3 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. On the outset, I must commend the Committee for coming up with this credible Report. In my view, this will set up a proper forum to propel the development agenda in our individual constituencies and by large, the counties. Looking at the whole scenario, it is outrageous that we, as Members of Parliament, are amongst the victims. I am from Nyandarua County and I am one of the victims. We have actually come to a situation where we find that most of the development issues are being articulated and looked into details by the ... view

  • 20 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, I actually support the deletion of this particular Clause because when you talk about conjugal issues, if your heart is not there, even if the court, for instance, issues such orders, it is practically impossible to enforce. I beg to support. view

  • 15 May 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. My name is hon. David Njuguna Kiaraho, Member of Parliament for Ol Kalou Constituency. This being my maiden speech, I would like to take this opportunity, first and foremost, to thank the electorate of Ol Kalou Constituency for having voted for me overwhelmingly. On the same note, I would like to comment on one or two issues which, basically, touch on the Presidential Address, and which are very passionate to me. Those, basically, are issues to do with agriculture and infrastructure. When the various Members were contributing during their maiden speeches, I think ... view
