• 16 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, I beg to move:- THAT, clause 19 be amended by deleting the word “Minister” wherever it appears and substituting therefor the words “Cabinet Secretary”. view
• 9 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Minister has alluded to the fact that they are providing food for three months for those who are settled at Kipkabus. Could she explain to us what kind of food is this? view
• 8 May 2012 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, as I speak now, as the construction works continue on that particular bridge, there is a small diversion just next to the bridge. That diversion is worse when it rains. As you know, only trucks which carry a maximum of 5 tonnes are allowed to pass through that road. The entire diversion has now been taken to Road D218 which stretches from Sondu to Nyabondo to Kusa. That is a 26 kilometer stretch. Could the Assistant Minister confirm that as they work on that bridge, those two diversions will be maintained to motorable conditions? view
• 2 May 2012 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Education:- (a) whether the Ministry entered into an agreement with the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) to increase teachers’ house allowance in 1996; and, (b) whether the Government will honour the terms of the said agreement to avert any future strike by the teachers. view
• 2 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, could the Assistant Minister tell us; in the two increments of 1997 and 2001, how much was it and is he satisfied that these increments can take care of the current inflation? view
• 2 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, there have been several agreements that were done by the Ministry and the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT). Some of them have not been honoured by the Ministry of Education. So, does the Assistant Minister want to tell us that all these pending issues will be transferred to the Salaries and Remuneration Commission or will they complete them before they transfer them to the Commission when it takes off? view
• 2 May 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Is it in order for the Assistant Minister to deny that everything has been negotiated yet the teachers are threatening to strike in a few months time? view
• 7 Mar 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, sometime last year I raised a similar question where there were a lot of potholes on the main road between Ahero and Sondu Market; up to now the road is patched halfway. On some portions the potholes were just enlarged and left there. Could the Minister confirm when he is also going to undertake these repairs? view
• 7 Mar 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. In the month of October, I requested for a Ministerial Statement from the Minister for Finance. This was in respect of the borrowing that was being done to cushion the depreciating Kenya Shilling. Up to now, the Statement has not been delivered. For how long should I continue to wait? I raised a similar concern last week and they promised to deliver the Statement any time this week but I can see that the week is ending tomorrow and I do not see it coming. Could I be guided accordingly? view
