  • 9 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Agriculture:- (a) whether the Government could consider extending the COMESA deadline once more considering that very little has been done in reforming the sugar sector; and, (b) when the Government will implement the Sugar Act 2001 and also disburse the Sugar Development Fund. view
  • 9 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I do not have any objection as long as the he can come with a comprehensive answer when he appears here next time. view
  • 3 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, could the Assistant Minister confirm or deny that they have failed to account for the monies that were disbursed to them earlier, and that that is why the Ministry of Finance is finding it difficult to disburse more funds to them? view
  • 18 Jan 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to ask the Minister of State for Defence the following Question by Private Notice. • 18 Jan 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am really surprised by the Minister’s answer. There have been a lot of flaws in the procurement of various military hardware or items in the Armed Forces of late. It is a matter that is causing a lot of concern among members of the public. I wonder whether the confidentiality the Minister has talked about is related to the flawed process of procurement of the F5 Jets that were purchased and yet they cannot take off and the navy ships that have been under repair for very many years. Could he confirm whether there is any ... view
  • 18 Jan 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order Mr. Speaker, Sir. Is the Minister in order to mislead this House that if a military member decides to walk out, he is allowed to do so, yet they did it in a row? There must have been circumstances that led them to leave in a row. Could he explain further? Is he in order to mislead us? view
  • 18 Jan 2011 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I beg to second. It is quite sad that we have been losing quite a number of our youth to what I would call criminals. That is because up to now, we have not been able to know who has been killing our youth in this country, especially in areas around Nairobi, Dagoretti, Limuru, Lari and other areas. Our investigations could not go far because we were told that on one hand, the CID Officers were also carrying out investigations. We left it upon them to move fast and make sure that they ... view
  • 18 Jan 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to congratulate the elders from my constituency and those from Belgut where the perpetrators come from, for having initiated some peace meetings which have borne some fruits. This has brought the menace to an end and my people can now sleep peacefully with their animals. The report that we want to adopt in this House today has also recommended various steps that the Government needs to take in terms of moving very fast and making sure that we stop losing lives in the hands of security agents or organized gangs. I want to ... view
  • 22 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: to ask the Minister for Energy:- (a) What is the reason for Government shift in position with regard to fuel price control, considering that the Minister has previously indicated that he was unable to control fuel prices? (b) Is the Minister aware that the recent astronomical increase in fuel prices was as a result of faulty machines at the Kenya Petroleum Refineries, demurrage charges accrued from the imported crude oil and the delay in offloading which is due to under-handling capacity at Kipevu which can only store up to 33,454 metric tonnes of petrol? view
