Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am agitated by the fact that these people have been branded "mercenaries". It reminds me of Hamasho(??) and Patrice Lumumba; people who are surrounded by mercenaries never survive. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like the Assistant Minister to assure this House, and I will lower my tone, that these people are not dangerous to this nation. Why have they refused to go back? If Kenyans have refused to do business with them, what business are they here for?

Bw. Naibu Spika, Waziri Msaidizi amechagua kulitumia neno "maskuota". Kuna vikundi viwili ambavyo tunavizungumzia. Kuna watu ambao walifukuzwa kutoka kwa mashamba yao, na hao si maskuota. Skuota ni mtu ambaye alikuwa akifanyia kazi tajiri katika siku za Ukoloni, na mwishowe akawachwa katika ile sehemu ya makao. Je, ni mpango gani Waziri Msaidizi alionao, ili kuwasaidia watu hao, walioangaishwa kutoka mwaka wa 1962, ili wajisikie kuwa Wanakenya halisi?

Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me the opportunity to contribute to the debate on the Presidential Address, to which everybody in the country listened to very carefully. There are contentious issues that emanate from what we call reconciliation and dialogue as have been addressed by the Leader of the Official Opposition. In his Speech, the President identified issues which the Government has to improve on. It is, indeed, intelligent to tell Kenyans to hold together.
