Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I must indicate that I am getting two minutes after waiting for eight hours. All said and done, I want to support and salute my President, because Thursday last week was one of the most important days for this country. In particular, I want to acknowledge that he has shown the commitment and the will to fight corruption. That is what we voted for. For the first time, we felt that this is the President and the person we voted for and we will support him to the end.

I want to encourage our President, who has demonstrated that he is on a high moral ground. All of us have to emulate and support him, because we need to save this country from corruption. Corruption eats away from inside out. It is also a cancer that we need to uproot from our midst. I have heard quite a number of Members speaking. Today I had an opportunity to listen to Members talking about insecurity, infrastructure, education and many other issues. It is possible for us to deal with these issues if, as a country, we stand together and eradicate ...

Secondly, leasing of medical equipment has been an issue. The other day, we had hospitals closed. I urge our governors, now that we have allocated money for leasing of medical equipment, to move fast and sign up with the relevant authorities so that our people can get the medical care that they deserve. I hear that only 35 governors have signed. I do not know why. We will start holding them accountable for the death of our people in the counties.

I think it is important for us to recognise that we are in the Jubilee Government and we have a Jubilee policy and agenda and that is what we are implementing. If Jubilee feels that we should be going the leasing way for not only medical equipment but also vehicles, I think we should be fair enough to let the Jubilee Government implement its own policies and Manifesto. We should be able to grant that and see how it works once it is rolled out. Thank you. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A ...

Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I want to take this opportunity to congratulate the Chairman and the Members of the Committee for a job well done. For sure, it is good that we have been able to clearly define ‘violence’. It is also important that we have been able to state clearly what ‘domestic violence’ is.

I think this is a win for women, children and people with disability. It is also a big win for the men of this country who in some areas have had some incidents. Going forward, people can interact and get married from any region of this country without any fear.
