  • 7 Dec 2017 in National Assembly: I rise to second the Motion for the adoption of the Report of the Procedure and House Rules Committee on proposed amendments to the Standing Orders. It is very important because this Report will cure the previous injustices that were done on a number of Members. You understand that the role of Members of Parliament is clear. They usually carry out those roles at committee levels. Whether you are a Member of the Minority Party, Majority Party or an Independent MP, we are all equal. Therefore, it is very important that all Members are accommodated so that they can serve ... view
  • 7 Dec 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker for the wise direction. So, this Motion will cultivate equity among all Members. It will cultivate equity that whether you are independent, from Minority Party or Majority Party, you will automatically be a Member of two committees. For that reason, I beg to second. view
  • 6 Dec 2017 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, pursuant to Standing Order 33, I wish to seek leave of the House to discuss the matter of ongoing killings in Bungoma County, particularly in Kimilili Constituency and Mt. Elgon Constituency where in a span of three months more than 42 people have lost their lives. Among the people killed are women and minors have been defiled. I want to remind the House that no Kenyan has the right to take away the right of another Kenyan. Even a pregnant woman has no right of taking away the life of the baby she is carrying. view

  • 6 Dec 2017 in National Assembly: Pursuant to Standing Order No.33, I wish to seek leave of the House in order to discuss the matter of the ongoing killings of people in Kimilili Constituency and areas bordering Mt. Elgon Constituency in Bungoma County, where close to 42 people have been brutally murdered in a span of three months. Among the people killed are women who have been gang raped and minors defiled by gangsters before they were brutally murdered in cold blood. The chilling murder of the innocent citizens has sparked fears of re-emergence of a killer outlawed gang in the name of Sabaot Land Defence ... view
  • 6 Dec 2017 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I beg to move that the House do now adjourn for the purposes of discussing the ongoing killings of people in Kimilili Constituency and areas bordering Mt. Elgon Constituency in Bungoma County, where close to 42 people have so far been brutally murdered in a span of less than three months. Just to bring the House up to speed, sometime in the last two months, a businessman by the name Evans Barasa was murdered in a place called Chebkwabi in Kimilili Constituency and his children were gang-raped by a group of people. Currently, none of them ... view
  • 6 Dec 2017 in National Assembly: others injured. Among those killed were women. Women are sacred. When you kill a woman, God will never forgive you. We have had other attacks in various parts neighbouring Kimilili Constituency. We have had attacks in Bumula Constituency in a place called Kimwanga where a gang of people descends into a village, butchers and injures people. The laws of this country are clear that no Kenyan has the authority or mandate to kill any other person. Even a pregnant woman has no power to terminate the life of the baby that she might be carrying. Even though I appreciate that ... view
  • 30 Nov 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I also rise to support this Motion. While I appreciate the comments by the Leader of the Majority Party that the Attorney General is going to gazette those names tomorrow, it is regrettable that he is sleeping on the names which were passed here very many weeks ago. He should know that his duty is to serve Kenyans in a more efficient manner. We also pass Bills here and they take time to be implemented, just as Kenyans who are waiting to inherit their wealth go through very long bureaucracies at the AG's Office. We should ... view
  • 29 Nov 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity so that I make it clear that I oppose this Motion. I oppose it because we live in a country in which whenever we have a problem, we want to make massive investments to solve it. The problem we have in this country is not that the emergency vehicles lack a road to pass. Today if a Cabinet Secretary (CS) wants to get to Mombasa Road to his girlfriend, the police will clear traffic and he will get there within the shortest time possible. view
