  • 1 Dec 2022 in Senate: I welcome the Members of Baringo County Assembly. They should ensure that they deliver on their mandate. We will support them as a Senate, whenever we can. I can see they have very good gender balance. I wish they had given the position of deputy speaker to a lady. I think their first Speaker is a Member of Parliament from Baringo which is very good. It is like they are churning out people who are going to be great leaders, once again, in this country. view

  • 30 Nov 2022 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am on the Floor. I agree with the Senator of Nairobi City County on certain requests that are made by Sen. Cherarkey and also Sen. (Dr.) Khalwale. To add on that, Sen. (Dr.) Khalwale was a Member of this House from 2013- 2017. We had a similar situation where quorum was a big problem and we agreed that we should remove or amend that particular provision which posed a lot of challenges view

  • 30 Nov 2022 in Senate: then. The best cure for this is for us to agree to remove that provision. There is no shortcut to it. I thank you. view
  • 30 Nov 2022 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker. I thank Sen. (Dr.) Lelegwe Ltumbesi. I wish to add on to the Statement on LAPSSET corridor that he has made. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, this project should have opened the northern part of this country. A lot of money has gone into it. I believe several promises were made at the beginning of this project, such as scholarships to the communities. Our land was forcefully acquired by the Government, without compensation. As communities living along those corridors, we have tried to ask the National Land Commission (NLC), to tell us how communities were supposed ... view
