If you look how it was before devolution and right now during devolution, the standards of those reserves and parks have gone down. These reserves are under the county governments and they are supposed to take care of them. You will find that most counties do not have the capacity and they do not employ professionals to man those reserves. My question to the hon. I will not say much because a lot has been said but this matter is not about a political party; it is about an individual member of the Cabinet who should take up his responsibilities. I feel frustrated because nothing is happening in this House as far as summons or invitations are concerned. I will give a good example of a committee that brought down a Senator in this country when we chose this route. It was during the impeachment of the former Nyeri Governor. I hope the petitioners will get solutions to the current problems they are facing. There is a major problem as far as land acquisition by relevant government institutions in this country is concerned. It is a matter that we need to review. Mr. Speaker, Sir, looking at the Petition, you can imagine 104 acres of land being owned by certain institution in a place like Nyamira County, where the population is increasing. • 31 Jul 2024 in Senate: Most of the issues on land acquisition happened many years before the population had increased. It is high time we reviewed the land acquired by the national Government institutions so that we can have proper planning. As Isiolo County, we do not even have development land within CBD. Moreover, there is idle land lying somewhere and a prison department is trying to see how they can corrupt the system and give the same land to private individuals.
