  • 29 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I think it is not right to say that we did well when we saw how we lost in the 10,000 metres race. It was because of poor co-ordination and planning. Although our athletes were leading, when they went to the finish, they were overtaken. view
  • 29 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, let me try again. view
  • 29 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I think it is not in order for the Prime Minister to say that I came without a medal when I won Boston 2000. I was the fastest athlete of the year in the world in 1997. view
  • 29 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Is the Prime Minister in order to mislead the House that I came back without any medal when in 1997, I was the first athlete of the year in the world when I won in Berlin; in 2000 I won the Boston Marathon and I participated in the Sydney Olympics? So, I think it is not in order for the Prime Minister to mislead the House. view
  • 22 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, thank you for giving me this opportunity so that I can also support this Bill. First of all, I want to send my condolences to the family of the late Michuki due to the passing on of his wife, the relatives of deceased families in Tana River and also the family of the veteran politician from Butere, the late hon. Martin Shikuku. I also want to say that this Bill is very important and we need to support it because we know what the National Security Intelligence Service (NSIS) has done for us. Most of the ... view
  • 28 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Minister for the answer he has given. I think since this war started, we have lost quite a number of our soldiers. There is the issue of insurance which the Minister said is adequate. How much is payable to a family which has lost a soldier? There were some soldiers from my constituency who died. Is the insurance payable immediately? view
  • 20 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, though I respect the one-third rule, I think hon. Karua should, at least, be more creative and bring something that is actually workable. Parliament cannot act in vain; the nomination process is an election process; this is not something where you elect people. view
  • 6 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The Assistant Minister has said that he is taking stock of the affected farmers and I do not know whether he is taking stock of the affected farmers in Bomet alone or in the entire country. This is because we are also affected by the same disease in Nandi. The Assistant Minister has also said that the farmers will be compensated. We know the planting season is from March to April and if farmers are compensated in July they cannot plant because it will be too late. view
  • 6 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Thank you, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity. view
  • 6 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I also want to support this Motion because teachers in most cases have suffered a lot. I am also wondering why the Minister should wait to be forced to do his work. When teachers go on strike, it means that the Minister is waiting to be forced to serve them. view
