  • 6 Aug 2015 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, recently I accompanied my colleague, Hon. Patrick Ntutu, who acknowledged the very important role that these people play and he held a fundraiser for these village elders. These people use their own resources and sometimes as leaders we are forced to also get into our pockets to pay them because of the important role that they play. view
  • 6 Aug 2015 in National Assembly: I support this petition and urge the committee in charge to expedite and take action for the national Government to take these people seriously. I do not think there is anybody in this country who is working for free. For the Nyumba Kumi initiative to succeed, these people have to be compensated. For security to be taken care of in this country, they have to be compensated. I support. view

  • 5 Aug 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. My point of order is that because of the interest that this Motion is going to draw, I request that we reduce the time from 10 to five minutes. view

  • 24 Jun 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this very noble idea by my very good friend, Hon. Sakaja. I would like to tell my friend that it is true when they say great minds think alike. This is because I have established such a database for my constituency. I would like to talk from first-hand experience on the usefulness of such a database. I have a record of all university graduates, diploma holders and skilled young people in my constituency. When I am seeking jobs for them, the database eases my work. So, I rise to support ... view
  • 24 Jun 2015 in National Assembly: there was a scramble for those vacancies. So, unemployment among our youth is a challenge. The challenges that this country faces threaten to tear apart its economy. I would like to say that unemployment highly leads to these challenges such as insecurity and youth radicalisation that eventually leads to terrorist activities. This noble idea will not only give the Government information about how many of our young people are out there, but it will also give employers easy time to select the skills that they want to match the employment opportunities that they have. This idea will also bring out ... view
  • 24 Mar 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to give my Maiden Speech. I take this early opportunity to thank all those who made it possible for me to be a Member of this august House. Today would not have been possible if God had not willed it. The scripture says that:- “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labour in vain”. Yes, we laboured, but not in vain because the Lord is on our side. So, to God Almighty, the owner of time and season, we owe our debt and gratitude for a day ... view
  • 24 Mar 2015 in National Assembly: I thank the great people of Kajiado Central who stood up to a massive barrage of propaganda, crude threats, bribery, abuse of power and empty promises, but still voted for the best candidate. Indeed, ours was a victory of the common man against the tyranny of power. To the good people of Kajiado Central goes my unflinching gratitude. We salute your steadfastness, courage, loyalty, commitment and fierce determination to defend your sovereign rights. You have demonstrated in this election that in a democracy, power truly belong to the people. I am humbled and honoured by your trust and abiding faith ... view
  • 24 Mar 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker for your protection. My heart goes out to the youth and the women of Kajiado Central, who irrespective of tribe, religion and social class voted overwhelmingly for me. I shall for ever remain indebted to you for your selfless sacrifice. I assure you that I will work tirelessly to positively transform your lives in the two years before the next general elections. The outcome of this election, once again, shows the unswerving determination of our people to ensure that democracy triumphs in Kenya. We have sent a strong signal to all and sundry that no ... view
