  • 27 Feb 2019 in National Assembly: We appreciate the role that our boys in uniform play in safeguarding the borders of this country, but we are not a country at war. Every financial year we are approving billions of shillings for something called “modernisation” and other things. What is our priority as a country? It is to develop our country. I do not see how all these billions of shillings are helping develop the country. If you go to the Ministry of Health, it is allocated billion shillings and if you go to Kajiado District Hospital, people are suffering. They have to go to private clinics ... view
  • 27 Feb 2019 in National Assembly: Speaking about devolution, the drafters of this Constitution, if I was asked, would have given NG-CDF priority. Devolution would not have been a priority for this country. The NG- CDF is doing much better than what devolution is supposed to do and at a very low cost. For example, let me mention about the referendum we are expecting to happen in this country. I would like to urge Members listening to me, that we must negotiate for NG-CDF to be strengthened. This is because Members have talked about the NG-CDF effects, how it has changed lives and this is actually ... view
  • 27 Feb 2019 in National Assembly: I want us, as the people who allocate this money, to think of the people we represent ably through NG-CDF. From a sum of Kshs100 million, we are seeing a lot of improvements in areas that are much marginalised. If I was asked, NG-CDF should not be given less than half a billion shillings every financial year. This will go to bursaries and also touch every aspect that view

  • 21 Nov 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I beg to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Health the following Question: (a) Explain why there is a shortage of cancer drugs despite the fact that cancer is a national concern? (b) What measures has the Ministry put in place to ensure availability and adequate supply of cancer drugs in all public health facilities? (c) Could the Ministry consider making available free cancer screening services in all public health facilities? view
  • 26 Jul 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Speaker. The Petition that Hon. Simba Arati has brought to the attention of this House is very important because issues of workers being intimidated are becoming common in this country. Just the other day, Kenyans were up in arms about the Chinese intimidating and exploiting them. It seems to be common that an employer can now do anything they want to an employee. This House should take those issues coming up very seriously. We are the peoples’ representatives. If our people are crying to us, we should be seen to take action against those who ... view
