  • 6 Jun 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, first of all, I would like to inform the hon. Member that care and support clinics for HIV/AIDS patients are being run twice a week at Hunyangu Sub- District Hospital and Bumala Health Centre. However, as you are well aware, the Ministry is committed to increasing the number of patients on anti-retroviral therapy from the current number of about 70,000 to 140,000 by the end of this year. We are trying to make sure that anti-retroviral treatment is offered even at the level of health centres. view
  • 6 Jun 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, as I have just said, we will scale up the treatment of AIDS patients to about 140,000 by the end of this calender year, and amongst those, will be children. view
  • 6 Jun 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, to get our target number, we are going to offer treatment even to health centres. I am sure that, in many of our constituencies and districts, there are health centres which are within the reach of most people. view
  • 26 Apr 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. (a) A total of 114 workers have been employed by the NHIF from 2004 to date. (b) I hereby lay the list of the employees by district on the Table for further information. However, the employment records do not capture the constituency. view
  • 26 Apr 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I hope that Dr. Ali has looked at the list of the employees--- view
  • 26 Apr 2006 in National Assembly: Looking at the list, it is obvious that they were not just employed in the office of the chief executive. view
  • 26 Apr 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, most of the positions that were filled from 2004 up to now were advertised while some were sought from the people who applied for them. These people were interviewed by the boards of management or the management committees. view
  • 26 Apr 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I do not know how many times I have to repeat myself, but I have said that, yes, some of those positions were advertised while some of them were filled from the people who applied for them. Once people apply for jobs, we call them in for interviews and they were taken up for the jobs. So, some positions were advertised. view
  • 26 Apr 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, if you look at that list, you will not see Lugari District, and I am not complaining. view
  • 26 Apr 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, that is just to show the hon. Member that not all districts are on that list. Even Lugari District, where I come from, is not on that list. view
