  • 6 Jun 2023 in Senate: We need to agree on the proportion of money which goes to governors, that should be allocated to specific wards, to enable our MCAs carry out proper oversight. I thank the Senator for Nandi County for coming up with this Statement. He is doing a good job these days and trying to endear himself to his people, which is good thing. view
  • 6 Jun 2023 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I just want to inform my brother the Senator for Meru County. He is actually my uncle. Do not dispute that. Maybe we need to ask the Standing Committee on Devolution and Intergovernmental Relations not to hear that matter at Committee level. The matter should be heard at the Committee of the Whole so that every Senator comes here and deals with it. view

  • 30 May 2023 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for this opportunity to contribute to a Statement on SFR that has been raised by Sen. Cherarkey. Sen. Cherarkey would benefit from this if he cared to listen. The matter of SFR is a basic, but very important matter for this country and for any nation. Lack of food to a big population of any country is in itself a threat to national security. I have taken note of the contents of the Statement, especially in reference to the closure of the reserve few years ago. A country cannot operate without a food reserve because ... view
  • 4 May 2023 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Did you see what the Senator for Mandera County did? He crossed from that side to this side looking at you. When he heard me requesting for a point of order, he went to the Bar. Can you warn the Senator for Mandera to behave in a manner that suggests that he is a senior leader in this House? view
  • 4 May 2023 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for this opportunity to also make a comment on this Petition. First, I thank the petitioners for choosing to bring this matter to the Floor of the Senate. That is in itself a manifestation of the faith and confidence that the people of Kajiado have in this Senate. They believe that this matter will be better canvassed here. Without going into the details of this Petition, there is a matter that, as the Senate of the Republic of Kenya, we need to address ourselves to. There are issues that come before us, which in my ... view

I take this opportunity to warmly welcome them to the Senate to see the Floor on which their Senator excels and does good things for the County of Kitui. Mr. Speaker, Sir, with those remarks, I welcome them and thank you. view
