Madam Temporary Speaker, I had told you that it will not be two minutes. It will be less than one minute just to appreciate Senators for finding time to visit Kitui County. On behalf of the great people of Kitui County, we are very grateful for the visit and interactions we have had with the Senators. Apart from the few challenges we have had with regard to the appearances by the governors before CPAIC, I believe that we have had a great time. The people of Kitui, Makueni and Machakos feel honoured that Senators spent a whole week in our ...

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am disturbed by the list and membership of the ad hoc committee. When I walked in, I went straight to the Senate Minority Leader and consulted him on this list. Looking at the list, at least the Minority Side is entirely from western part of Kenya. On the majority side, there are two Senators from one county. I believe that this House is big and Members are mature enough to speak the truth and call a spade by its name. The principle on this ad hoc committee is a brilliant idea. I do not suspect ...

Whereas I support wholeheartedly the decision to set up this committee to look into issues of the mess, I oppose the list as constituted. I propose that perhaps, the majority and minority sides should consult further on this list. I have nothing personal against the Committee on Health but this includes Members of the Committee on Health plus two other Members. I do not want to say anything about my colleagues. The only point that is important for me to make on the Floor of this House is that the Senate Committee on Health of the Republic of Kenya has ...

Senate Mashinani Sitting in Kitui County. When you stand to invite guests who are your seniors in politics, it feels like you are sitting for a ―Leadership 101‖ test, and being marked in real time. I am very sure that if it was Sen. Cheruiyot from Kericho doing this test, he would probably fail.

Mr. Speaker, Sir I am very grateful that the leadership of the Senate unanimously agreed to come to Kitui to sit for the Senate Mashinani between yesterday and Friday. On behalf of the great people of Kitui and on my own behalf, I welcome all Senators and guests that have been invited. Mr. Speaker, Sir, this is the making of history. If each county in this country is going to host the Senate Mashinan i once a year, it will take the next 46 years before the Senate comes back to Kitui. I, therefore, want to invite the leaders and ...

Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Senate Mashinani Program, as rolled out by the Senate, will ensure that Senators will have access to different parts and institutions of this county. As I welcome the Senators to Kitui, I ask them to take time and visit all the institutions that are listed in the program; interact with the people of Kitui and see how we can join hands to help our people in deepening and widening devolution. With those remarks, Mr. Speaker, Sir, I welcome all the Senators and guests to Kitui County. Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir.
